Product Condition Levels Explained

We sell products in a variety of condition levels. If you prefer to buy only brand new items, we can fulfill your needs. However, our goal is to offer products that provide the utmost in value. Therefore if you are open-minded to alternative condition levels we can often substantially reduce your capital investment. Note that every item has, at least, a functionality warranty, no matter what the condition. So you know your investment is protected. Remember, we're I.T. professionals and consultants, if it's not good enough for us, it's not good enough for you. We NEVER sell inferior products, that's a promise. We offer the following condition levels:

Brand New
The product is new, sealed in it's factory packaging.

New Open Box
The product is new, either in resealed factory packaging or replacement packaging. (Typically on hard drives this means that the drives have been re-bagged).The item may be a customer returned item.

New (System) Pull
The product has been mounted in a brand new system (e.g. server), then removed from the system, before entering service. These products may have a few hours of usage due to system build time etc. Ostensibly however, New Pulls are electronically new items, which may show signs of being physically mounted and unmounted. All handling is performed by trained technicians, taking full ESD precautions.

Factory Recertified / Factory Refurbished
The product has been built, rebuilt or repaired at the original manufacturer's factory (Note we NEVER sell 3rd party repaired items, as we do not find them to be reliable enough). Often these products are extremely close to new in condition, except that they contain at least one recycled or repaired component. Failure rates are often lower on these devices since they have been far more thoroughly tested than new items.

Refurbished
These products have had NO problems or failures, they merely have some usage. The product has been professionally returned to excellent condition. These items have been fully tested, formatted (if appropriate) & repackaged. Hard drives are fully vetted for surface defects and wear, only healthy disks are approved for resale to our customers.

Used (System) Pull
The product has been removed from a working system (e.g. server). These products vary in their usage due to age of system & type of service etc.. However, Used System Pulls are fully tested and all handling is performed by trained technicians, taking full ESD precautions.

Used
The product has been removed from working service. Often these are sourced through off-lease or industrial excess channels. These products vary in their usage due to age of system & type of service etc.. The cosmetic condition is not warranteed, however, hardware functionality is fully warranteed.

Used - Poor Condition
The product is useable. However, the item may be more dented, scratched, rusted or dirty than our normal "Used" condition level. These items tend to be aggressively priced due to the sub-standard appearance.

Third Party Repaired
These items have been repaired by someone other than the original manufacturer. We usually don't stock these items.

White Label
These items often have been repaired by someone other than the original manufacturer. There is no original manufacturer label. The item has a generic white label. We usually don't stock these items.
