The CherryPicker 7000 is the only scalable, single-box platform designed for cable headends, terrestrial and satellite television operators for grooming and re-multiplexing digital programming. The system gives operators the flexibility to broaden the diversity of their programming while gaining incremental revenue from new products and services within existing bandwidth limits. It can be configured to include up to 8 compressed input streams with 18:1 output. Software modules provide upgrades for Dynamic Grooming, Digital Ad Insertion and Datacasting. The patented statistical re-multiplexing technology of the CherryPicker 7000 enables the operator to unbundle compressed streams from a vast array of satellite and other sources to create a new customized multiplex, delivering targeted program offerings for specific local viewer preferences. Operator-provided content, like video-on-demand, remote and local video, audio, digital ad insertion, and data services can be seamlessly integrated into the digital bouquet. Operators have the flexibility to manage the bit rates of individual programs to maximize content of the output stream while maintaining picture quality. The CherryPicker 7000 can expand the diversity of local programming, bringing new products and services to the programming mix within the limitations of existing bandwidths.
