The flexibility and expandability of its SCSI interface allows users to construct a high performance reliable disk subsystem with a large storage capacity. The hard drive also supports Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology (S.M.A.R.T.) which alerts the system of any negative reliability status conditions. The host system can then alert and advice users on taking appropriate actions to avoid potential system failure or downtime.
